VH1.com published yesterday that the Boston Herald did report that the police may have a lead in the unsolved murder of JMJ.

From VH1.com:
“According to a report in the Boston Herald, an unnamed witness has told police that Ronald “Tinard” Washington, 43, was an accessory to the murder of Jay (born Jason Mizell), who was shot to death in his Queens, New York, studio on October 30, 2002 [...]. Last week, Washington was convicted of six armed robberies for holdups he committed in November 2002.”

Washington told the Boston Herald that he expects to be charged soon as an accessory in Jay murder, but denied being involved.

On 03.04.2007 the new DVD “Run DMC Live at Montreux 2001″ was released.

The DVD screens a live show Run-DMC did perform in the Stravinski Auditorium at the 35th Montreux Jazz Festival on July 20th, 2001.

The DVD comes with a nice made menu and 16 tracks in chrystal clear pictures and superb sound, but no further specials. The tracklist:

Yesterday, VH1.com reported that 20 years after the release of “It’s Tricky” (the song was released 1986) Doug Fieger and Berton Averre, songwriters of The Knacks “My Sharona”, sued Run-DMC for not having had permission to sample “My Sharona” core riff for “It’s Tricky”.

On Thursday 6th July 2006 BBC 6 Music will be celebrating 20 years since Run DMC brought Rap Music into the mainstream with the release of “Raising Hell” which became the first Rap album to go platinum.

Beginning with Breakfast with Phill (07.00-10.00) through to Steve Lamacq (16.00-19.00) they will be playing selected tracks from “Raising Hell” as their featured Album Of The Day featuring some archive clips of the band discussing how they made it.

BBC 6 Music Plays It Again (Thursday 6th July, 21.30-22.00) will be playing out the acclaimed documentary “Its Like That: The Run DMC Story”.
